Donating is something that binds us together, especially at Christmas: Especially in the cold season, when fairy lights illuminate our houses and heaters spread a cozy warmth, many people ask themselves how they can help other people who are not doing so well .
The same goes for the Deggendorf engineering firm IFB Eigenschenk, which is committed to the motto “Donations instead of gifts”. And so Mayor Dr. Christian Moser and Christiane Preiß from the Deggendorf city community are happy about a donation for the Deggendorfer Tafel worth 1000 euros.
The food banks were originally founded to counteract food waste, explained Ms. Preiß when handing over the donations. However, more and more citizens are now dependent on regular support. To ensure that the food can be distributed once a week, 50 volunteers are currently involved. Among other things, these ensure that the food is picked up, sorted and put away from the donors.
“For us, social commitment not only means taking responsibility for our employees, but as a regional company it also means paying attention to the people in our region,” emphasized Dr.-Ing. Bernd Köck, Managing Director of IFB Eigenschenk. The IFB has therefore been supporting the Deggendorfer Tafel for years because it allows us to make a sustainable contribution to the community.
