3 out of 10 young people are forced to abandon school due to lack of financial means and even after having studied, many have difficulty finding a job, this is what emerges from the results of a consultation carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MJS) with more than 1770 young people, 50% of whom are girls in 9 regions of Madagascar.

In the area of ​​health, young people note access barriers to health infrastructure and information gaps on health services. On the question of peace and security, the most cited sources of insecurity are poverty (63%), lack of income-generating activities (55.8%) and the consumption of narcotics and narcotics (26 %).

This vast national consultation of young people was carried out by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the support of UNICEF, throughout 2023. The themes concern the main challenges to be taken up for which young people are calling more support from both the State and technical and financial partners.

Young people inspire to be involved in decision-making with a view to formulating policies and programs related to youth, almost 27% of them already participate in fokontany meetings while 38% have platforms to express their opinions .

This consultation will serve as a basis for the revision of the National Fanoitra Strategy or lever for youth empowerment and community transformation through young people in Madagascar, according to the MJS.
