Shooting at Arden Fair Mall leaves one man injured

Sacramento police found evidence of a shooting at Arden Fair Mall on Saturday night that caused a man minor injuries. According to the Sacramento Police Department, a suspect was identified through surveillance video, but he fled the scene.

Police said a 22-year-old man was injured, possibly as a result of shrapnel from the bullet that was fired. The shooting is being considered as an accidental discharge by police. They do not believe the victim of the shooting was targeted directly.

Police said the shooting happened on the second floor of the mall, and confirmed there was no disturbance before or after. Cody Tapley, Sacramento Police Department spokesperson said “there will be more investigation, but for now they are not in custody”.

There is no suspect description available at this time. In a statement, Arden Fair Mall told KCRA 3 they “will have an increased police and security presence during the holiday season”.
