After two and a half months without an audience – the Football Leagues Directorate announced a short time ago that the Home Front Command approved the entry of 5,000 fans, already from the upcoming midweek cycle.

The board of directors of the leagues met today to discuss the outline of returning the audience to the games of the professional leagues. And so, in accordance with the Home Front Command’s decision, a total of 5,000 fans will be able to stay in the stadium for ONE ZERO League and National League games starting tomorrow (Monday, 18.12.23), with the exception of games where the police will not be able to prepare on these schedules.

Chairman of the Leagues Directorate Erez Kalfon expressed his gratitude, stating: “We thank Minister Miki Zohar and the commander of the Home Front Command, Major General Rafi Milo for the fruitful cooperation and want to congratulate the return of the crowd to the soccer fields in the professional leagues. The joy is not complete because before our eyes is the reality in which IDF soldiers are fighting on the borders of the country, our abductees are still being held captive by Hamas, and the wounded are still in the hospitals.”

“On this occasion, I would also like to address the crowd of fans who are returning to the fields. As I always say, without an audience there is no football and I hope that soon all of you will return to the fields and do nothing but encourage your team. I am hopeful that we will leave behind violent events related to our football in the past and embark on a new path together.”

The decision comes after months of restrictions on public gatherings due to the ongoing pandemic and strict regulations set in place by the government. This announcement marks a significant step forward in the return to normalcy for sports fans across the country.
