The Nice Criminal Court issued the sanctions requested against Youcef Atal in his trial for provoking racial hatred.
On Monday, Algerian full-back Youcef Atal appeared before the Nice criminal court as part of his trial for provoking racial hatred. The prosecutor of the Nice court therefore requested against Youcef Atal, 10 months in prison with a simple suspension, a fine of €45,000 and the dissemination of the court decision on Instagram for a period of one month.
On his Instagram account, the Nice defender relayed an anti-Semitic video following the Hamas attacks and the first Israeli bombings on Gaza. Realizing the message in the video, the latter pleaded clumsiness. The OGC Nice club had since suspended him.
