Girona’s Jaume Fàbrega leaves the presidency of the General Council of Chambers of Catalonia

The president of the Chamber of Barcelona, Josep Santacreu has assumed the presidency of the General Council of Chambers of Catalonia replacing the president of the Chamber of Girona, Jaume Fàbrega, who becomes the new vice-president of the body.

In a statement this Monday, the Chamber of Barcelona explained that the president of the Chamber of Sabadell (Barcelona), Ramon Alberich, will be the entity’s treasurer. For her part, the president of the Chamber of Tarragona, Laura Roigé; that of the Chamber of Lleida, Jaume Saltó, and the one from the Chamber of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Pere Ayach, will occupy the vocal positions.

With the constitution of the Plenary and the appointment of the new Executive Committee of the Council, the electoral process of renewing the governing bodies of all the Catalan chambers of commerce is completed. The Plenum is made up of the presidents of the 13 Catalan chambers, in addition to a second representative for each corporation under public law.

The president of the Chamber of Girona, Jaume Fàbrega, was unanimously elected president of the General Council of Chambers of Catalonia in 2021, replacing Joan Canadell. Fàbrega’s case has been an exception, since the Girona native has held a position traditionally held by the president of the Chamber of Barcelona.
