The senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi are unlikely to attend the consecration ceremony of the newly constructed Ram Temple in Ayodhya next month, as confirmed by the temple trust. Both leaders, who were at the forefront of the Ram Temple agitation, have requested not to come due to their health and age.

Preparations for the dedication ceremony on January 22 are in progress and will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The puja for Pran Pratishtha will begin on January 16 and continue until January 22, with the participation of Shankaracharyas of six darshans and around 150 monks.

The temple trust has invited around 4,000 priests, 2,200 guests, representatives of major temples, and several prominent figures including Spiritual Leader Dalai Lama, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Movie Stars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, and Industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani.

After the consecration ceremonies, ‘Mandala Pooja’ will be performed for 48 days starting on January 24, and the temple will be opened for devotees on January 23. Ayodhya Municipal Corporation officials have also started preparations for the dedication ceremony, including setting up fiber toilets and a ‘Ram Katha Kunj’ corridor in the Ramjanmabhoomi complex.
