Police Authority IT Department Seeks Section Manager
Are you ready for a bigger task? The Police Authority’s IT department is currently in need of a Section Manager for the South/East/West section. This is an opportunity to lead and develop employees and operations in an organization that contributes to societal benefit.
The Police Authority is Sweden’s largest authority with approximately 36,000 employees and is organized into seven police regions, a number of national departments, and an office. The IT department consists of nearly 1,100 employees who manage operation, security, development, maintenance, support, and purchase of IT support for all areas of operation. The South/East/West section is responsible for on-site IT support, installation of new IT technology, and life cycle management for all police IT equipment in the designated geographical area.
The Section Manager for South/East/West will lead and develop employees and operations, manage escalated incidents outside of regular office hours, and be part of the unit’s management team. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the IT area, experience of budget and follow-up, and Swedish citizenship. Additional qualifications such as experience in purchasing in the IT area and managerial and leadership training are considered meritorious.
