According to a statement on Monday from the head of the Pentagon, “The recent escalation of irresponsible attacks by Houthis from Yemen threatens the free movement of trade, endangers the lives of innocent sailors and is against international law”.
“For this reason, today I inform you of the creation of the Guardian of Prosperity operation”, he added.
This alliance includes the United States, the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the Seychelles, and Spain, Lloyd Austin detailed further.
“Even if America mobilizes the entire world, our military operations will not cease (…) regardless of the sacrifices we have to make”, were the statements on the social network X, by Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a senior Huthi official.
He added that the attacks would only be stopped “if Israel stops its crimes and if food, medicine and fuel reach the besieged population” in the Gaza Strip.
