During the repulse of smugglers on the Egyptian border last night (Wednesday), two border fighters were wounded by bilateral gunfire, the circumstances and details are still unclear.
Border fighters arrested no less than nine smuggling attempts on the Egyptian border tonight. The criminal gangs in the south probably thought there was nothing like stormy weather to carry out smuggling, they believed the cold and storm would drive the fighters away from the border and thus open a window of smuggling opportunities. A great deal of determination and even used massive fire at the forces.
The IDF spokesman said this morning that “during the night, there were about nine drug smuggling incidents that included massive firing of smuggling squads towards Israeli territory in the Paran Territorial Brigade area.” There is not yet known what caused the malfunction.

It will be recalled that the fatal mistake occurs in a month in which the IDF has already counted two serious accidents, including two officers killed and a wounded fighter.
