Double-sided shooting again: Two fighters were injured during the smuggling operation

by time news

During the repulse of smugglers on the Egyptian border last night (Wednesday), two border fighters were wounded by bilateral gunfire, the circumstances and details are still unclear.

Border fighters arrested no less than nine smuggling attempts on the Egyptian border tonight. The criminal gangs in the south probably thought there was nothing like stormy weather to carry out smuggling, they believed the cold and storm would drive the fighters away from the border and thus open a window of smuggling opportunities. A great deal of determination and even used massive fire at the forces.

The IDF spokesman said this morning that “during the night, there were about nine drug smuggling incidents that included massive firing of smuggling squads towards Israeli territory in the Paran Territorial Brigade area.” There is not yet known what caused the malfunction.

The forces apparently identified the smuggling squads and firing points and it was decided to respond with live fire at the sources of the shooting in order to thwart the smuggling. It is not clear if there were any casualties on the other side and at some point, as mentioned, as a result of a mistake in identification, two border fighters were lightly wounded by our forces.

It will be recalled that the fatal mistake occurs in a month in which the IDF has already counted two serious accidents, including two officers killed and a wounded fighter. Bo shot a walnut fighter at his patrol friends and killed them. “These days we are working hard to investigate the incidents, and to investigate in depth the facts and reasons that led to the dire consequences. These are thorough investigations that leave no stone unturned, and are based on professional, sharp and value-based standards,” the chief said during a ceremony in memory of the victims. He added, “An excellent organization is not without mistakes, an excellent organization investigates them thoroughly and improves. “Professional and penetrating research is a cornerstone of the IDF, and it expresses our duty to the military profession, to national security, to Israeli society, to parents, to bereaved families, and above all, to soldiers.”
