Ayyappa Devotees Disappointed as Aavin Ghee Offer Falls Through
CHENNAI: Ayyappa devotees are showing their disappointment as they are unable to avail the extra offer while Aavin ghee is being sold at a discounted price. The popular Aavin ghee was initially sold at Rs 760 per litre, but due to low sales during the Diwali festival, the stock of ghee has increased. As a result, Aavin announced a special offer, selling 1 liter of ghee at 650 rupees.
Previously, Ayyappa devotees who visit Sabarimala in groups would typically purchase 5 or 15 liters of ghee in total and pour it into coconuts, a customary practice. When selling ghee in bulk, they expected a discount. However, the company has recently stopped the sale of 15 liter and 5 liter ghee, leaving the devotees disappointed.
A large amount of butter was imported from abroad to sell during the festival, but the sales were not as expected, leading to the increased stock of ghee. The decision to halt the sale of the larger quantities has left Ayyappa devotees seeking Aavin to make coconut oil disappointed.
As devotees continue to express their frustration, they hope that Aavin will reconsider their decision and make the special offer available to them once again.
