A rare phenomenon of lava-like material erupting from farmland is reported from the caravan area of Ishire, Scotland. Video and pictures of lava and other things erupting from this newly formed rift have already gone viral on social media. People in the area are panicking as it is not immediately clear what the phenomenon behind this is.
Authorities are taking precautionary measures to prevent children and livestock from inadvertently entering the area where the lava appeared. However, locals say that if the lava flow increases or expands, it will also affect the wildlife of the area.
The lava erupts from a hilly region. Therefore, a few meters away, it looks like a small volcanic eruption. All the grasses that are dry in winter are covered with lava. The lava comes out in small volumes, so it travels only a short distance and ends up in a charcoal-like shape that cools with the soil. The land is now under the control of the Scottish Coal Mine Oversight Board.
