A Shooting on Värmlandsgatan Leaves 18-Year-Old Dead

An 18-year-old man has died after being shot on Värmlandsgatan at around 4 p.m. The police responded to the scene just minutes after the incident and provided medical treatment to the victim before he was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police have cordoned off the crime scene for a technical investigation and are currently conducting door-to-door inquiries. They are also investigating whether there are surveillance cameras that captured the shooting. Marcus Anefur, the press officer for the police region east, stated, “The work is going on intensively at the scene to secure the evidence that exists, tracks on the spot, hold interviews with witnesses, in parallel with the fact that we are working to search for the perpetrator or perpetrators.”

The shooting is being investigated as a murder, and as of now, no one has been arrested, and there are no suspects. The outer cordon has been lifted, but the inner cordon remains closest to the crime scene. The police have received witness observations but have not disclosed any information provided by them.

The police are not speculating on whether the incident may be gang-related and are currently assessing that there is no danger to the public. They believe the targeted victim was the intended target, and the incident is being considered as isolated. Initially, the police stated the victim was an 18-year-old man.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
