Florida State Seminoles head coach Mike Norvell is feeling confident about the foundation of the team’s recruiting efforts after a successful 2024 National Signing Day.
The Seminoles finished the 2023 season undefeated and as champions of the ACC, capping off their impressive year with the No. 11 class in the nation. Following National Signing Day, Norvell spoke on the Andy Staples On3 Podcast, discussing the team’s recruiting strategy and the status of the high school recruiting foundation.
Norvell emphasized the importance of finding the right fit for the team and addressing their specific needs through recruiting. He highlighted the success of the 2023 season, where a balance was struck between players developed through the high school ranks and those acquired through the NCAA transfer portal.
Looking ahead to the 2024 class, Norvell expressed excitement about the recruits identified and the relationships built with them. He believes they are some of the best at their positions in the country and are eager to contribute to the program’s continued success.
In addition to recruiting high school talent, Norvell is actively pursuing former Washington State star quarterback Cam Ward through the NCAA transfer portal. Ward has shown high-level talent at his previous stops and could potentially fill the void left by quarterback Jordan Travis.
Norvell is also optimistic about the potential impact of last year’s transfer portal acquisition, wide receiver Keon Coleman, and sees the opportunity to dominate the ACC with a talent like Ward.
With a strong recruiting foundation and a successful 2024 class, Florida State is poised to continue their upward trajectory in the coming seasons under Norvell’s leadership.
