Cyber scams are becoming more and more common every day. The State Security Forces and Corps and INCIBE usually launch numerous notices about cybercriminals who try to take advantage of the need of people looking for work.

Cybercriminals use the usual channels used by everyone to try to achieve their objectives. The scams of the son in need or the fraud of the CEO are known. On this occasion, the scammers once again use WhatsApp with a supposed job offer related to Netflix.

This is a message that can arrive through this messaging app. A number unknown to the person speaks to them, introduces herself as a certain ‘White Girl’ and then he describes an apparently ideal job for which hardly any effort is needed.

These scammers assure that they are willing “to pay 5 euros for each task you complete” and insist to the person that they could win «between 100 and 1120 euros per day».

But it’s all a lie. In reality, as happens on other occasions, they are fraudulent job offers with which cyber fraudsters could get hold of the user’s personal data.

Furthermore, in this case, although the offer is from Netflix, it has not been published on any of the company’s channels and they do not even specify that it is necessary to have an account to be able to do it. “The work is very simple, all you need to do is watch any video from the Netflix Spain trailer on YouTube and take a screenshot and then send it to me,” they highlight in this false job offer.

Likewise, they question the victim asking if he would be interested before offering more details about this supposedly idyllic job.

The notice from the National Police to avoid falling into this scam

It is for these reasons that the Police have launched a notice through their social networks.

The first thing they draw attention to is the name of the supposed person offering the job and who claims to be ‘White Girl’. On the other hand, the National Police insists that You should never trust “job offers that offer you gold with little effort”.

Likewise, they remember the need to find out about the company that is going to hire you before responding, clicking on suspicious links or providing personal information.

INCIBE’s advice to avoid falling into the trap

In fact, INCIBE offers a series of recommendations regarding these types of practices that are relatively common.

Do not share personal information

INCIBE explains that if you have fallen into the trap, the most important thing is stop any additional paymentscollect all possible information, change passwords and search for personal information that may have been published about you to, if necessary, resort to the right to be forgotten.

These types of companies always publish their job offers through their official channels with all the necessary information before applying.
