SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – VLT Carioca and the municipality of Rio de Janeiro signed on Wednesday an addendum for the city to pay 48.8 million reais to the company due to the extension of the system, said CCR (BVMF :), which controls the grant.
Payment will take place in monthly installments between April 2024 and the end of the concession, in December 2038, CCR stated in a relevant fact on Wednesday night.
The measure is a restoration of the economic-financial balance of the concession contract.
CCR, owner of more than 90% of VLT shares, said that the value of 48.8 million reais has a base date of June 2023.
The signed amendment also incorporates the operation and maintenance of the Gentileza Intermodal Terminal (TIG) into the concession, according to the company.
