Police operation in Prague due to a shooting at a downtown faculty – PRAGUE POLICE

Several people have died and “dozens” more have been injured in a shooting that took place this Thursday at a college in the center of Prague, according to police, who have confirmed that the alleged shooter has been “eliminated.”
The capital’s Police have announced on social networks the closure of the areas surrounding the scene of the events, located in Jan Palach Square in the capital of the Czech Republic. Sources cited by the public news agency CTK have specified that the event occurred in the Faculty of Arts at Carolina University.
Prime Minister Petr Fiala has announced the cancellation of his official agenda in the city of Olomouc and his return to the capital in light of the “tragic events” of this Thursday. He has asked all citizens to follow the recommendations of the Police, a call that has also been endorsed by the Minister of the Interior, Vit Rakusan, who will appear in the area.
Rakusan has specified in statements to public television that there is no immediate danger to the population after the neutralization of the only suspect.
