At the heart of the crazy day linked to the Super League in world football, the FIFA president displayed his optimism about the longevity of its competitions.
The partial setback suffered by UEFA on Thursday before the Court of Justice of the European Union “do not change anything”said FIFA President Gianni Infantino, putting into perspective the threat of a private football Super League.
“Historically, we have always organized the best competitions in the world and this will also be the case in the future”assured the boss of world football on the social network Instagram.
A little earlier, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin had also minimized the impact of this court decision, recalling that it concerns points of regulation for 2021 which are now obsolete, since the European organization has completely rewritten in 2022 its system for authorizing private competitions.
But Gianni Infantino did not venture into the legal terrain, only suggesting that the competitions of official bodies were quite attractive enough to resist the threats of secession.
“We will continue to deliver the most spectacular, competitive and meaningful tournaments in the world, and use our revenue to grow football” via “solidarity programs”affirmed the boss of Fifa.
