Air India Express Expands International Routes with Surat Airport Inauguration
Air India Express, a leading airline in the country, has recently expanded its international route offerings with the opening of the international terminal at Surat Airport, Gujarat. The airline’s first flight from the newly opened terminal flew to Dubai, marking the start of a new chapter in the company’s expansion plans.
Flight IX 173 took off from Surat Airport at 11.40 am on Sunday and reached Dubai at 1.30 pm, carrying 171 guests. Air India officials ensured that all passengers had a seamless and comfortable travel experience. The inauguration of the first flight was conducted by Air India Managing Director Alok Singh, who issued boarding passes to some of the passengers.
Singh highlighted the importance of Surat’s role in the airline’s expansion plans, expressing optimism in the airport’s future growth. “Apart from this, we believe that Surat Airport will grow to a very large extent. In that way, the new terminal has now been opened,” he said, emphasizing the airline’s commitment to providing passengers with a smooth travel experience.
In addition to the new flight to Dubai, Air India Express also offers direct flight services to Sharjah, operating 5 flights per week. The company informed that 4 weekly flights will be operated on the Surat-Dubai route as well. Passengers interested in traveling to Dubai or Sharjah using Air India Express can book tickets on the company’s official website or on third-party sites.
