DIG/ Libreville Airport organized, on December 12, 2023, the 3rd edition of its civil aviation safety day, under the aegis of its Director General, Igor SIMARD.

The event was led by two civil aviation safety and security experts: Augustin MFOUDI and Dieudonné MFOUBOU MOUDHOUMA.

Experts edify airport operators on standards, supervision, management and management of safety in civil aviation.

They explained the National Safety Plan (NSP) which describes all the regulations and guidelines governing the conduct of safe operations, from the perspective of aircraft operators, air traffic service providers, aerodromes and maintenance services.

After the presentation workshop, a simulated fire extinguishing exercise was coordinated by an airport fire officer.

Returning to the merits of the initiative, Mr. MFOUBOU MOUDHOUMA indicated that ADL is not on its first try.

“The initiative, which is not recent, now constitutes a tradition. It is part of the safety culture within the airport area. ADL makes safety culture an obligation.” Before continuing:

“This year, it was a question of looking for foreign objects on the platform because they can interfere with traffic, particularly planes on the tarmac. In addition, it was also discussed that the agents as well as all other collaborators at the platform understand the need to maintain the level of security at the airport.”

For his part, Mr. MFOUDI recalled that ADL’s objective is to achieve zero accidents on the airport platform and the actions to achieve this. “to achieve this objective, or at least get close to it, there are actions to take and maintain. Namely, carrying out awareness-raising activities in order to establish synergy between the different airport operators and internal stakeholders.”
