The 18th National Fencing Championship recently concluded in Mehsana, Gujarat, with athletes from various states including Tamil Nadu participating in the competition, which was exclusively held for the ‘cadet’ category.
The competition featured three categories of fighting, including ‘Boil, Saber, and Ebi’, with Tamil Nadu athletes putting up an impressive performance. Arlin from Tamil Nadu secured the gold in the men’s saber category, while the Tamil Nadu team also clinched the gold in the team category.
In the women’s saber event, Jaberlin from Tamil Nadu emerged victorious and the Tamil Nadu team also claimed the gold in this category. At the end of all the competitions, the Tamil Nadu women’s team secured the second place overall, with the state of Maharashtra taking the first position.
In the men’s category, the Tamil Nadu team secured the third position overall, with the Haryana team claiming the first position.
