Turkey Announces Visa Exemption for Six Countries to Boost Tourism

In a move aimed at attracting tourists and strengthening international relations, Turkey has announced visa exemption for citizens of six countries, including the United States and Saudi Arabia.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s order, published in the Turkish Official Gazette on Saturday, grants visa relaxation for citizens of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman, United States of America, Bahrain, and Canada.

Under the new rules, citizens from these countries can visit Turkey without a visa for up to 90 days out of every 180 days. This follows similar concessions given to Qatar in 2016 and Kuwait in 2017.

The decision is part of Turkey’s efforts to boost tourism, with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism reporting that 52.7 million tourists visited the country in the 11 months leading up to November this year.

The move is expected to not only attract visitors from the exempted countries but also strengthen Turkey’s diplomatic and economic ties with the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the other nations included in the visa exemption.

This visa exemption is a positive step in bringing countries closer together and is likely to have a significant impact on the tourism and hospitality industry in Turkey.
