The narrowly missed championship in the summer, the mixed results this season – Marco Reus is now hoping for the new year with Borussia Dortmund.

Marco Reus thanked the Borussia Dortmund fans for their support over the coming year. The veteran made the comments in a video message from BVB on Christmas Eve.
The 34-year-old said: “I know sometimes it’s not that easy, but we are still very grateful that you are there for us and that you always support us, no matter what the times are. And we hope for a lot better year 2024.”
In the summer, Dortmund narrowly missed out on winning the German championship on the last matchday of the previous season and had to hand over the title to FC Bayern Munich.
This season, BVB survived the preliminary round of the Champions League as the winner of a difficult group. However, most recently they were eliminated in the round of 16 in the DFB Cup. The runner-up is only fifth in the Bundesliga and is already 15 points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen before the end of the first half of the season. The club management recently decided to start the new year with coach Edin Terzic.
