Kochi: The High Court will hear Dileep’s anticipatory bail petition today at 1.45 pm in a case of conspiracy to endanger the actress’ Attack Case. The action is at the request of the prosecution. The prosecution contended that Dileep was not cooperating with the case and did not produce the mobile phone which was important evidence. The High Court had directed Dileep to co-operate with the investigation. But Dileep’s non-compliance is a violation of the rules. The prosecution also demanded that the accused be remanded in custody. Dileep will be asked to produce his mobile phone.
The court had on Wednesday adjourned the anticipatory bail pleas of six accused, including Dileep. The move follows the government’s demand for a delay in examining the digital evidence seized in the raid. The High Court had on Wednesday extended the stay on the arrest of Dileep and others. Following this, the prosecution again approached the high court seeking consideration of Dileep’s anticipatory bail petition today.
Meanwhile, the SIT will submit its progress report on the attack on the actress to the trial court today. Director Balachandra Kumar’s revelations are being investigated further. The investigation is focusing on the revelation that the footage of the attack on the actress had reached Dileep. The prosecution will also ask the trial court itself to approach the Supreme Court to extend the proceedings along with the progress report of the investigation. Meanwhile, Dileep’s petition seeking the production of footage of Baiju Paul, the investigating officer, is also being considered.
