Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan left for a two-day working visit to Russia, the state agency “Armenpress” reported.

The Office of the Prime Minister informed Armenian journalists that Pashinyan will take part in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (EAEU) on December 25 in St. Petersburg.

On December 26, the Prime Minister of Armenia will take part in the so-called unofficial summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

In 2024, Armenia takes over the EAEU presidency.

At the same time, official Yerevan’s relations with partner countries along the lines of the CIS and the CSTO have deteriorated significantly. On October 13, Armenia refused to participate in the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and did not send its representative to Bishkek. Then, for the first time in history, Yerevan ignored the CIS summit.

In November, Armenia refused to participate in the CSTO summit in Minsk. Previously, Nikoli Pashinyan expressed his sharp dissatisfaction with the fact that the partners of the Collective Security Treaty Organization did not side with Armenia in the conflict with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh. Pashinyan accused Moscow and Minsk that they support Baku and do not help Armenia in any way.

He also went to Russia for two days Alexander Lukashenko. He is also scheduled to take part in the EAEU meeting and the next day in the unofficial summit of the CIS countries.

It is expected that, following the results of the EAEU meeting on December 25, the parties will sign the Declaration on the further development of the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030 and for the period until 2045.
