BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque lost everything. This Monday, in the midst of Christmas celebrations, players, coaches and managers discovered that their home, the “Sportica” sports complex, had been destroyed by a gigantic fire. A tragedy for this Betclic Élite club which has been playing in this room for many years. Built in 1986, Sportica was a legendary venue for French basketball.
He is now nothing more than a pile of ashes. This is a new blow for the northern club which is already struggling in Betclic Elite, with only four victories in the first 16 matches of the season and a 17th place in the standings. This Thursday, December 28, the Gravelinois were to face Paris Basketball, second in the championship, before taking advantage of a few days of break. This match will ultimately not take place following the fire which ravaged the hall but also all the club’s equipment.
