The Church of Jesus Christ has grown in some regions of Europe, such as Spain, where for the first time evangelicals managed to establish churches in 1,000 cities, a great feat considering the strong national Catholic tradition.

More than that, the importance of the numbers draws attention due to the context of apostasy that has emerged in Europe in recent years, with churches being closed and their temples being transformed into bars and/or clubs.

Fortunately, according to data from the ministry Evangelism in Depth (EVAF), the cooling of faith appears to be reversing, and part of this is due to immigrants from Latin America, Africa and Europe.

Máximo Álvarez, director of EVAF, explained that evangelism was fundamental for the expansion of the evangelical church in Spain, and that this generated preaching points that still need more support today.

“For many decades there have been churches and ministries with this vision of planting churches where there is still no evangelical place of worship,” he said, considering that, despite advances, there is still much to be done.

“There are 542 cities with more than 5 thousand inhabitants without an evangelical church and large neighborhoods in the cities where there is no church”, he highlighted, according to information do Evangelical Focus.

Difficulties

James O. Davis, founder of the Global Church Network (GCN), an entity that operates in various parts of the world through a network of 700,000 temples, had already commented on the difficulty of establishing churches in parts of Europe such as Spain, reported GospelMais.

“European nations represent some of the most difficult places to plant churches, establish networks of leaders and equip pastors,” he said.

“However, long-established models of training and preparation for full-time ministry are unable to keep up with the unprecedented growth of the global Christian Church, resulting in a significant shortage of trained pastors and ministers,” said Davis. He checks out:
