Tirunelveli Municipal Police Win Big at State Athletics and Skills Competition
The Tirunelveli Municipal Police have reason to celebrate after their impressive showing at the recent Tamil Nadu 41st State Senior Athletics Championships and the 67th State Police Skills Competition. The City Commissioner, Maheshwari, extended her congratulations to the team for their outstanding performance.
First Class Constable Renukadevi was a standout performer at the athletics championships, representing the Tirunelveli Metropolitan Police team. She claimed first place in the 10,000m and 5,000m races, earning gold medals for both events. Additionally, Renukadevi secured a bronze medal in the 15,000m race, placing third in the competition. Her exceptional performance has also earned her a spot in the national level competition scheduled for February.
The skills competition also saw members of the Tirunelveli City Police Department make their mark. First Level Constable Ajith Arumugam clinched the gold medal in the Computer Awareness category, while Balan, also a First Level Constable, secured the bronze medal in the Computer Automation category.
In recognition of their achievements, the Tirunelveli Municipal Police Commissioner, Maheshwari, personally congratulated the winning officers. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Kameswaran and Police Inspectors Samson and Shanmugavadivu were also present to celebrate the success of their colleagues.
