TECATE.- With the commitment to increase the state’s tourist offer, the historic Tijuana – Tecate train was reactivated, which since its inauguration at the beginning of the last century has played a fundamental role in infrastructure of transportation in our region, said the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda.

The state leader pointed out that the project reflects the commitment of the State Secretariat of Tourism (SECTURE) to provide Baja Californians with the opportunity to enjoy and enrich themselves with the rich cultural heritage of the region.

The train will provide tourists and locals a comfortable way to explore tourist attractions, from the vibrant energy of Tijuana, to the serenity and unique traditions of Tecate, designated as a Magic Town. Exceptional gastronomy and natural beauties, such as La Rumorosa, promise an unparalleled experience.

This project not only aims to connect cities, but also has the mission of revitalizing places of historical importance, giving the Baja California community the opportunity to enjoy and enrich themselves with our rich cultural heritage,” highlighted the head of the State Executive Branch.

For his part, the state Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, indicated that the reactivation of the Tijuana – Tecate train anticipates a positive impact on the local economy, benefiting restaurants, stores and generating employment. This step also reflects a significant push towards strengthening tourism, sustainable economic development and the preservation of the historical and cultural identity of Baja California.
