Former Transport Minister, Antony Raju, spoke at a meet the press event in Thiruvananthapuram, where he discussed his proud step of dismissing AMVI Kiran Kumar from the Motor Vehicle Department. Kiran Kumar, the husband of Vismaya who died due to dowry harassment, was also accused in the case. The dismissal of Kiran Kumar occurred 46 days after the investigation began, marking the first time such action has been taken according to service rules. Raju emphasized the importance of actions over length of time spent as a minister.
Raju also discussed the progress made by KSRTC, including the implementation of a salary reform, the formation of a board of professionals as directors, and the reduction of the organization’s debt. Additionally, he emphasized the implementation of the Gram Vandi scheme in areas without buses and dismissed allegations from the opposition regarding a road camera controversy. Raju called for the opposition to support the progress of Kerala and clarified that KSRTC is a service-oriented organization, not driven by profit.
