CD Projekt Red (CDPR), the Polish game developer behind the popular “The Witcher” series, has revealed some exciting news about the development of their upcoming game. In a recent interview with CEO Adam Kiciński, it was disclosed that the new game, tentatively named “Polaris,” will see a significant expansion of its development team by 2024.

The interview, which was conducted by Polish media Parkiet, shed light on the current state of CDPR’s development work. According to Kiciński, over 330 employees are currently involved in the development of “Polaris,” with the team expected to grow to around 400 people by mid-2024.

In addition to “Polaris,” CDPR also has plans to begin development on “Orion,” the sequel to “Cyberpunk 2077,” next year. The company is also collaborating on a project called “Sirius” with The Molasses Flood, as well as working on a remake of the first game in “The Witcher” series.

One of the most anticipated aspects of the interview was an update on the development progress of “Polaris.” Kiciński made it clear that previous reports of the game being in the advanced stages of development were not accurate. Due to the multiple delays that “Cyberpunk 2077” faced, the development team plans to take a more conservative approach to the release timeline, meaning the release date will be announced later than anticipated.

Additionally, Kiciński addressed speculation about CDPR potentially acquiring or being acquired by another company. He stated that the company has no plans to acquire other companies simply to improve their financial statements and does not intend to be acquired by others.

The news of these upcoming projects and expansions has generated significant interest among fans and industry insiders. With the success of “The Witcher” series, anticipation for the new “Polaris” game, as well as the other projects in development, is high. Fans will have to wait for further updates on the release date for “Polaris,” but the news of expanding teams and new developments is sure to keep gamers eager for what’s to come from CD Projekt Red.
