Girona hires two people to promote cooperation in the industrial sector and promote digital transformation

The City Council of Girona has hired two people who will work to promote the cooperation of the industrial sector in the urban area of ​​Girona, on the one hand, and promote digital transformation to improve the competitiveness of Girona’s business fabric, on the other. These are two new employment and local development agents (AODL), subsidized by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC) within the framework of local development support programs, who will join the council staff on December 31specifically in the Economic Promotion Area.

As for the person you will work for promote the cooperation of the industrial sector of the urban area of ​​Girona, aims to promote industrial symbiosis and the implementation of innovative solutions that respond to the challenge of sustainable economic growth. In the first year, the agent will intervene in projects such as support for the articulation of the innovative system, innovation in agri-food production, the promotion of a carbon-neutral economy and coordination for attracting investments.

Regarding the person who will work to drive the digital transformation for improve the competitiveness of the business fabric Girona, it should be noted that it will have to look for strategies to combat the digital divide and social inequality, strengthening people’s digital skills. In the first period, the AODL will intervene in the following projects of the Economic Promotion Action Plan: talent map in Girona, innovation in digital technology and lifelong learning measures and second chance programs focused on digital skills.

During the month of November, the selective procedures for the appointment of the new agents were carried out will take effect until December 30, 2024with the possibility of extension subject to the granting of the grant in future SOC calls.

The AODL are technical staff who energize, promote and execute one or several projects of the local entity’s action plan, in consultation with other agents in the territory, with the aim of sustainable economic growth that generates employment. Agents must develop a work plan, in the context of the Strategic Plan for Economic Promotion of Girona, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN and the new European policies.
