Kreuzberg gets a club back. After three years of closure, Bi Nuu at Schlesisches Tor will reopen on New Year’s Eve. Pop music is played. The operators of the Kreuzberg Festival Hall posted spectacular photos of the newly renovated rooms on Facebook. “There will be a stage that can be assembled and dismantled and technology suitable for concerts,” they write. Everything is designed so that different event formats can take place, concerts, parties, conferences, company celebrations and so on.
The Bi Nuu Berlin has been around since 2012. It is located in the Schlesisches Tor subway station, not far from the Oberbaum Bridge. The premises originally housed a restaurant, later the Kato (department store at the gate) was opened there and existed until 1981. The Kato club then opened there. In 2012, the current operators, who also operate the Lido and Astra clubs, took over and, after some renovation work, named the club Bi Nuu, after an album by the West Berlin band Ideal, which came out in 1982.
