DPIIT organizes brainstorming camp for manufacturing in Delhi

New Delhi: Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal chaired a meeting convened today in New Delhi to unveil the important outcomes and recommendations made during the Think Tank for Manufacturing held on October 12 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. An official statement from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said.
According to the official statement, the meeting had the esteemed participation of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey.
Goyal emphasized that with the government’s commitment to provide comprehensive facility support, it is imperative for the industry to play a leadership role in national manufacturing.

“Mandaviya highlighted opportunities in the chemicals, medical devices and healthcare sectors, while Pandey highlighted the progress achieved in the automotive and capital goods sectors,” according to the statement.
Pawan Goenka, Chairman of the SCALE Committee, presented the results related to the focus areas, feedback from concerned ministries and departments and ways forward.
The meeting was organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in collaboration with Invest India and the Steering Committee on Advancing Local Value-Addition and Exports (SCALE Committee). The statement said the 11 focus sectors include auto components, automobiles (including EVs), capital goods, chemicals, drones, ESDM, medical devices, aerospace and defence, leather and footwear textiles and space.
According to the official press release, the Chintan Shivir saw active participation from industry leaders, knowledge partners and government officials from focus areas.
The deliberations focused on the current scenario, challenges and recommendations designed to stimulate the manufacturing scenario of the country. According to the statement, these insights emerged from extensive discussions with industry leaders, highlighting challenges related to their respective sectors. (ANI)
