Chipotle customers brutally attack employee in South Carolina after dispute over extra chicken

Two suspects, Jamel Bernard Williams, 36, and Kayla Nicole Pyle, 34, have been accused of attacking a 20-year-old female Chipotle employee in South Carolina. The dispute began after Pyle requested extra chicken and was informed by the employee that it would cost more.

According to authorities, Pyle came into the fast-food restaurant to place an order and asked for extra chicken. When the employee informed her that the extra chicken would cost more, a dispute arose, and “words were exchanged” between Pyle and the victim. Williams then reportedly approached the employee, pushed her to the floor, and began hitting her, while Pyle joined in and also started hitting the employee.

Surveillance footage shows other customers quickly intervening and pulling Williams away from the victim. Both suspects then fled the scene in a gray 2021 Dodge Charger before the police arrived.

Williams has been charged with assault and first-degree battery, while Pyle has been charged with assault and second-degree battery. However, a male juvenile who was also with the suspects has not been identified and will not be charged.

The victim declined treatment at the scene and sought treatment on her own. Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile condemned the attack, calling it “completely unjustified” and urged the suspects to turn themselves in and let the judicial system run its course in the case.

The Sheriff’s Office has thanked the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department for their assistance in identifying Williams and Pyle. Authorities are hoping for the victim’s quick recovery from her injuries.
