San Salvador. The Quaker Oats Company, through its authorized distributor Unión Distribuidora Internacional, SA de CV and PriceSmart El Salvador, SA de CV, announced the withdrawal from the market of the products that are listed on www.quakergranolarecall.com.

This is because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Healthy people infected with Salmonella typically experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, Salmonella infection can cause the organism to enter the bloodstream and cause more serious illnesses, such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

The products referred to in the list were produced in the United States and the one shown in the main image (Quacker Simply Granola Oats, Honey, Raisins & Almonds, with health registration 19378) was distributed to El Salvador. Therefore, the company informs potential consumers so that they can check their pantries for any of the products included in the list and, if applicable, not consume them and throw them away.

In addition, consumers of the mentioned product can return it to the store of origin where they purchased it. For additional information, consumers can contact the customer service line: [email protected]. To date, Quaker has not received any reports of illnesses related to the product covered by this recall. It is important to note that this recall only applies to the specific product included in this list and that no other Quaker products are affected.
