Rohan Dennis, 33, was arrested by police this Sunday, reports Australian media 7NEWS. He is suspected of having been at the wheel of the car which hit and killed his wife, ex-racist Melissa Hoskins (32). According to 10 News First, the man who ended her professional career allegedly hit her with a pick-up a few meters from her house in the town of Medindie, in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, before she died at the hospital.

The former Australian cyclist was released on bail and will stand trial in March 2024. Dennis and his wife were married and have two children. According to the police report, Dennis is charged with the following charges: causing death by dangerous driving, dangerous driving, and endangering the lives of others.

Born in 1990, Rohan Dennis also started on the track, holding the world hour record in 2015. On the road, the Australian distinguished himself by winning several time trial stages on the three grand tours. In 2015, he wore the yellow jersey of the Tour de France for one day.
