Instagram has released a native option to download videos published on the social network. This way, users do not need third-party applications to download Reels on their cell phones. How to stop Reels videos from downloading
Time required: 3 minutes.
Open Instagram on your cell phone Access your profile tab
In the bottom right corner, click on your photo.
Access your Instagram settings
On the profile, tap on the three bars, in the top right corner, and choose the “Settings and privacy” option.
Go to “Sharing and remixes”
Disable download
Now just uncheck the “Allow them to download your reels” option.
Other Reels settings
It is worth remembering that this configuration only makes it difficult for users to download their videos on Reels, as there are third-party tools that will still be able to download them.
If you have considered changing this item in your account, there are other settings that may be important for managing your profile.
Still in the “Sharing” section of Instagram settings you can allow and block notes in publications and Reels.
If your account is private, only followers can see your posts, which includes Reels videos. Additionally, only approved followers can share them – but again, only your followers who also follow this other profile will be able to see them.
Finally, consider whether you want other people to be able to remix on top of your posts. You can enable or disable individually for photos, videos and Reels. Changing this setting applies to all published media (and will not only be applied to a specific publication). Another thing: turning off remixing doesn’t affect who can use your original audio.
