North Carolina Pastor Arrested for Alleged Attack at McDonald’s
High Point, N.C. (WKRC) – Dwayne Waden, a 57-year-old pastor from North Carolina, found himself in hot water after allegedly attacking a McDonald’s cook who works with his wife.
The incident took place on Dec. 28 after Waden received a call from his wife, who claimed that employees were “disrespecting” her while she was training to be a manager at the fast-food restaurant. In response, Waden showed up at the McDonald’s and proceeded to physically assault one of his wife’s coworkers.
According to the High Point Police Department, Waden walked behind the counter, put his hands around the neck of the victim, and proceeded to punch him in the face multiple times. He then allegedly attempted to push the victim’s head into one of the deep fryers, prompting other employees to pull Waden off the 34-year-old victim.
The victim, who sustained a “large contusion” on his forehead, scratches on his neck, and injuries to his right eye, was driven to the hospital by a family member. First responders were called to the scene, and police were able to review security camera footage from the restaurant.
Following the incident, Waden was taken into custody on charges of assault and battery. He posted a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 22. It was later revealed through his social media that Waden works as a truck driver in addition to serving as a pastor at Elevated Life International Ministries.
