Jacob Rott became acquainted with the Elevator Boys two years ago: The five boys, almost all of whom come from the Frankfurt area, started out as a boy band, except that they don’t make music, but initially entertained themselves with videos from the elevator on Tiktok. From the start they looked significantly more put together than many other male stars. Suddenly young men were also asking the hairdresser about the perms of these style role models. Since then, Jacob Rott, 23 years old, hasn’t been going down in the elevator with the Elevator Boys, on the contrary. They have now also arrived in the United States. At the same time, Jacob Rott – like other members of the group – is also at the top as an influencer with 11.6 million followers. Among other things, he now works for the watch brand Omega.

What do you eat for breakfast?

I usually sleep until the last second in the morning. If I’m in a hurry, I just make myself a bowl of muesli. If I have more time, an açaí bowl. And unfortunately I am addicted to caffeine.

Where do you buy your clothes?

I’m in the great position of working with a lot of partners, but otherwise I just go to Zara or COS. Often in the women’s department because I think the pants are beautifully cut. But then I have to take a size larger than in the men’s department so that my bobble fits.

What is the oldest piece of clothing in your closet?

A very old denim jacket from my uncle. He’s 72. I throw them on myself sometimes. This is a cool vintage piece. No name, but can be worn.

That was to my former girlfriend, I once wrote a little letter. But that was probably three or four years ago.

Which book has had the most impact on you in your life?

I tend to prefer motivational videos and read few books. I thought “Perfume” was great at the time, the outsider role of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille. I particularly enjoy watching Arnold Schwarzenegger’s videos, for example his “5 Rules of Success” or “6 Rules of Success”. I can only recommend it to everyone.

How do you keep yourself informed about world events?

I sometimes watch this short summary of the “Tagesschau” to bring myself up to date. Otherwise, I look on social media to see what the public broadcasters are sharing there.

What is your best small talk topic?

I’m not that into zodiac signs, but I think it’s a good small talk topic to start a conversation and find out a few character traits about the other person. I am Pisces, who are considered emotional and creative. I can sign that.

What was the last movie that made you cry?

“Marley & Me”, the film with the Labrador who dies at the end. When it comes to animals, I’m always emotional. I watched the film on the plane and I think it’s always a very special emotional number. You’re on your own, it’s night and it affects me more.

Are you superstitious?

I’m completely free from that. I’m not afraid of Friday the 13th either.

What can you laugh about?

About videos, especially animal videos.

Your favorite first name?

I haven’t gotten to any of them yet conclusion came. I don’t know what I’m going to call my children yet either.

Are you taking a lunch break?

For five minutes, but then it goes straight on.

Which country would you like to live in?

Either USA, England or New Zealand. We visit America often and have built up a good circle of friends there. I once went on a little trip around the world to New Zealand for six weeks after school. I drove around in a camper van and had a nice relationship with the country.

What’s never missing from your fridge?

Protein-Pudding.

Do you feel freer with or without a car?

Because I feel like I’m more flexible. I grew up in the country, in a village with 500 inhabitants. If you’re not flexible, it’s very difficult; the last bus on the weekend leaves at two o’clock. This doesn’t work with some delivery services in rural areas either.

What is your greatest talent?

To be creative.

What do you do even though it’s unreasonable?

Going to after parties during Fashion Week. The Gucci afterparty in Milan was good.

Which historical person would you like to meet?

I would have liked to meet Lady Diana and Michael Jackson. And does Arnold Schwarzenegger already count as historical? I find his mindset extremely exciting, the way he put his mind to things and always found a way to make his dreams come true.

Do you wear jewelry? And a clock?

Definitely, a watch every day, preferably Omega, namely the Seamaster, my favorite watch is the Constellation. I also wear jewelry every day, like pearl necklaces and a ring, even though I often get asked if I’m engaged.

Do you have a favorite scent?

I like Bleu de Chanel and Gucci Guilty.

What was your best holiday experience?

After we boys moved in together, our first year, we were in New York on New Year’s Eve. We were in America together for the first time, and when we stood there together at midnight, lying in each other’s arms and realizing everything that happened in 2021, how it all started and how it changed our lives within six months, that was very nice.
