Jappiyar School Wins Junior Super Kings Inter-School T-20 Cricket Tournament
Yesterday, the Junior Super Kings Academy held the inter-school ‘T-20’ cricket tournament in Chennai, and the Jappiyar School emerged as the champions after defeating Lalaji Memorial Omega School in the final match.
Lalaji Memorial Omega School batted first and managed to score 101 runs in 19.5 overs, with Kiran being the top scorer with 53 runs. In response, the Jappiyar team chased down the target of 102 runs by scoring 103 runs in 18.4 overs, only losing six wickets in the process. This victory earned Jappiyar School the title of champion in the tournament.
The top two teams from the Chennai tournament, Jappiyar and Lalaji Memorial, have now qualified for the second round, which is set to begin on the 22nd in Nellie. The winning teams were awarded prizes by Chennai Super Kings player Mukesh Chaudhary.
The tournament is part of Junior Super Kings Academy’s efforts to promote cricket at the grassroots level and provide young cricketers with a platform to showcase their talent.
