The Green Bay Packers made some roster moves on Monday, signing WR Bo Melton from the practice squad to the active roster and signing S Tyler Coyle to the practice squad. In addition, the team placed WR Samori Toure on injured reserve. These transactions were announced by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.

Melton, a first-year player, was originally selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Rutgers. He was signed by the Packers off the Seahawks’ practice squad late last season and has spent this season on the Packers’ practice squad and active roster. Melton has appeared in four games with one start, recording 11 receptions for 156 yards and a touchdown, as well as one rush for 7 yards. In his college career at Rutgers, he appeared in 56 games with 42 starts and finished ranked third in school history in games played, sixth in receptions, eighth in 100-yard receiving games, and tenth in receiving yards.

Coyle, also a first-year player, was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue by the Dallas Cowboys. He spent the past two seasons on the Cowboys’ practice squad and active roster, appearing in three games and recording six tackles on defense and three tackles on special teams. Coyle spent four years at the University of Connecticut before playing the 2020 season for Purdue. He will wear No. 24 for the Packers.

With these roster moves, the Packers are hoping to bolster their depth at wide receiver and safety as they continue to compete in the NFL.
