Dollar USD closed lower in 2023, the second consecutive year with that trend
The trading of the day was for US$ 16.5 million, with operations at a minimum price of $38.85 and a maximum of $39.25.
As occurred throughout the year, the Central Bank (BCU) did not carry out interventions in the exchange market. The last time it did so was on August 31, 2021 with transactions for US$31.2 million.
In it Republic Bank (BROU)the dollar was quoted at $37.60 for purchase and $40.10 for sale.
With the decrease of 2.62% in 2023, the US currency accumulated two consecutive years of decline. In 2021 it had closed with an increase of 5.56% and completed a streak of four annual increases.
In 2022 the dollar culminated in $40,071 with a retraction of 10.4%. This year it only broke the $40 barrier once: it was on November 1 when it traded at $40,019 in the interbank average.
