Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: The Ministry of Interior announced, on Tuesday, its readiness to cancel dealing in old documents, while indicating a move to increase the outlets for issuing the unified electronic card and working hours.
Ministry spokesman Brigadier General Miqdad Al-Moussawi said, “There are options and a complete study to cancel dealing with old documents,” noting that “the number of electronic card issuance outlets, devices, and working hours will be increased to speed up the completion of all unified electronic cards.”
He added, “All preparations for this issue are ready,” pointing out that “the work to cancel dealing with old documents will be implemented as of the first of next March.”
The Minister of the Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, announced earlier the date for approving the national card, the only official document, as of the first of next March, while indicating that the concerned departments must prepare for the large numbers that will come to obtain the card, as well as prepare a plan to rebuild and rehabilitate the department’s buildings.
