Literature for a good cause: Sebastian Fesser has brought together a dozen authors who have written summer stories “from cheerful to deadly”. The proceeds go to an aid project for homeless people in Hanover.

Hanover. “It started with three liters of broth in 2015, now there are 280 portions of warm food every week,” says Sandra Lüke (54) about her handcart café, whose name comes from a time when she actually had a small vehicle was traveling to help homeless people. And it became even more: Since March 2022, there has been a daytime meeting place for homeless women at Hagenstrasse 26. However, a completely different group of people is meeting in his tea kitchen on this day: authors from Hanover who have written short stories. All proceeds from “Fateful Summer” (DWG, 246 pages, 14 euros) go to the Handcart Café.
