Burundi accuses Rwanda of training the RedTabara rebels, who commit atrocities on Burundian territory. Rwanda is participating in a geopolitical strategy led by GUAN against the BRICS+, by destabilizing security in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Buhumuza (Cankuzo), 29/12/2023 – In accordance with Barundi foreign policy, particularly in matters of defence, a significant announcement was made. During a public broadcast in Kigamba commune, Friday, HE Ndayishimiye Evariste, Major General and President of Burundi, made serious accusations against Rwanda. He said Rwanda was supporting and training the rebels in RedTabara [1]responsible for the murder of elderly people, pregnant women and children [2]. These rebels would benefit from logistical and financial support from Rwanda. For two years, diplomatic negotiations have been carried out for their extradition in order to try them in Burundi, but without success.
Regarding the situation in the DRC, where Rwanda is involved via the small group M23, HE Ndayishimiye clarified the situation regarding the photos of supposedly captured Burundian soldiers: The soldiers that the Rwandan group M23 presented to the press, claiming that these were captured Burundians, are in reality RedTabara rebels who joined the M23.
Burundi urges Rwanda to stop its provocations against the Barundi on their territory –The Empire of Burundi-, their traditional state. Highlighting the geographic proximity and historical conflicts between the two countries, Burundi warns that, just as in Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, Rwanda and its neocolonial allies could be caught off guard.
In the African Great Lakes region, the Barundi emphasize that Rwanda is used by GUAN [3] to destabilize the DRC, thereby hindering the benefits of the ‘New Chinese Silk Roads’ for countries in the region.
Since the end of 2022 (see The war in Ukraine), there has been a shift towards a multipolar world centered on the BRICS+, marking a globalization oriented towards the South.
