As 2024 begins, Colombian schools are preparing to return to school, after the end of the year break. It should be remembered that the education secretaries of the municipalities are autonomous and have the possibility of determining when classes start and also setting the days on which their students will take vacations this year.
However, local organizations have the obligation to comply with at least 40 weeks of academic work and the 12 weeks of recess contemplated by Law 115 of 1994.
According to an article in the newspaper El Tiempo, the dates in each region of Colombia are different for the return and departure of students from public school classrooms.
