With the urban local elections set to take place on February 19, 32 IAS The Tamil Nadu government has approved the appointment of 52 election observers, including officials.

With the local body elections in all the districts in Tamil Nadu over, the urban local body elections are scheduled to be held on February 19 as per the order of the Supreme Court.

Nomination filed

Candidature filing started yesterday on the heels of the forthcoming single phase elections for local bodies in corporations, municipalities and municipalities.

The filing of nominations has not yet reached a climax as the major parties have not yet finalized the ward allotment with the coalition parties.

Meanwhile, the State Election Commission is actively preparing for the elections. District Collectors have been visiting polling stations and counting centers directly to expedite election preparations. Election flying squads are seizing undocumented items and money.

Apart from this, the Election Commission of Tamil Nadu is also appointing election observers.

Electoral work

49 IAS candidates for the forthcoming Urban Local Government Elections in Tamil Nadu. The government gives permission and orders to the Tamil Nadu State Election Commission to use the officers.

60 IAS personnel will be deployed in Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh for the forthcoming Assembly elections. The Election Commission of India has received the list of officials. 49 IAS officers prepared for local elections. Of the list of officials, 36 are on the Election Commission of India list.

So the remaining 13 IAS. Officials can be used as observers for urban local elections.

Election Observer

In addition to them there are 19 more IAS. Officers and 20 District Revenue Officers (DROs) are allowed to be used by the State Election Commission for election work.
