Half a Million Kroner Luxury Watch Found in Central Stockholm: Police Seek Owner

by time news

The luxury watch was found on the street in central Stockholm on New Year’s Day. About 40 people have reported to the police – but the owner of the clock movement worth around half a million kroner is still unknown. If the owner has not picked up the watch within three months, the finder can claim it, says Magnus Alensand at the Stockholm Police.

It is supposed to be an Audemars Piguet watch that was found on New Year’s Day and the police believe it is worth around half a million kroner. It was located on a street in central Stockholm and was handed in to a police station on January 2. It is exemplary action by this citizen who found it. She has done exactly what she is supposed to do, says Magnus Alensand, group leader at the police area City’s office in Stockholm. He says that several people have contacted and said that they lost their watch. They have both visited us at our stations and called. Just yesterday, around 40 people contacted us about the watch.

To ensure that the wrong person does not come across the watch, the correct serial number and other details on the back of the watch must be given to the police. Magnus Alensand believes that it is quite unusual for items of this high value to be handed in. According to the Lost and Found Act, the person who found an object has the right to request a finder’s fee or claim the lost property if the owner has not collected it within three months. We absolutely hope that the right owner will get his watch back, but otherwise the watch may end up in the finder’s possession, says Magnus Alensand.
