Dubai Introduces Driving Test Booking via WhatsApp
Dubai residents and foreigners can now book and reschedule driving test appointments through the popular social media platform, WhatsApp. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the new service, which is available on RTA’s Mahbub chatbot at 0588009090.
Mira Ahmed Al Sheikh, Director of Smart Services Department of RTA’s Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, stated that since the user’s phone numbers and registered information are authentic, test booking is also possible through WhatsApp by mobile number. The service is meant to benefit both locals and foreigners and is available in both Arabic and English.
RTA’s digital policy aims to simplify and expedite services through various digital platforms. This new offering follows the recent launch of the facility to renew Dubai driving licenses at home within 10 minutes. The entire process, other than the vision test, can be completed online, eliminating the need to visit offices to renew a license.
Furthermore, RTA has introduced the service of sending driving licenses and vehicle registration cards to expatriates’ home countries. Those interested in this service should make a separate application on the RTA website and provide their address.
Previously, appointments for driving tests were made by visiting the RTA website or using the ‘RTA Dubai’ application. With the addition of WhatsApp booking, the process is now even more convenient for residents and foreigners in Dubai.
The new service marks another step in Dubai’s efforts to provide efficient, accessible, and modernized government services to its residents and visitors.
